What is a CNA?

In Compton, a Certified Nursing Assistant, commonly known as CNA, plays a vital role in providing support to patients with their daily living activities and other healthcare needs. Working under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN), CNAs are also referred to as Nursing Assistants, Patient Care Assistants (PCA), or Nurse's Aids.

For many individuals in Compton, becoming a CNA is a stepping stone to advance their careers and pursue higher roles as LVNs or RNs. Interestingly, a significant number of CNAs in this area are already enrolled in nursing school programs, utilizing their CNA career as a valuable opportunity to gain practical experience and deepen their understanding of the healthcare field. Others choose to become CNAs to assess whether they want to continue on the path of their healthcare journey.

As a Nurse Assistant in Compton, you will be an essential and valued part of today's healthcare world, equipped with knowledge and skills that are consistently in high demand. Our comprehensive program, thoughtfully designed with input from educators, caregivers, and representatives from the long-term care industry, is here to support you in becoming a competent nurse assistant and embarking on a rewarding career in health care.

The program consists of 60 hours of engaging classroom and online theory lectures, coupled with 100 hours of supervised hands-on clinical experience at a local Skilled Nursing Facility.
